Curriculum & Instruction

Our curriculum aligns with local standards and GED requirements, while focusing on 21st-century skills and special education guidelines. We use a student-centered, blended approach with small classes and project-based learning. Regular assessments track progress across all programs, ensuring personalized growth. Parents stay actively involved through frequent check-ins and open communication. Together, we create a flexible and supportive learning experience.

Curriculum Standards

  • Homeschool program aligned with local education standards (adjustable per family needs)

  • GED curriculum aligned with GED Testing Service® and adult education best practices

  • After-school enrichment focused on:

    • 21st-century skills (coding/science, leadership, arts)

    • Homework help aligned with student’s school curriculum

  • Special education instruction follows IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) guidelines

Safety & Security

Student safety is a top priority. All staff undergo background checks, and secure check-in systems, ID badges, and security cameras help ensure a protected environment. We conduct monthly emergency drills and keep updated contact info and supplies on hand. Health policies promote wellness, with clear guidelines on illness, medication, and screenings. Our team is also fully trained in mandated reporting to safeguard every child’s well-being.

STUDENT SAFETY PROTOCOLS

  • All staff background-checked 

  • Secure check-in/check-out system (parents/authorized guardians pick ups)

  • Visitors sign in with ID and wear badges

  • Security cameras in common areas

B.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

  • Fire, lockdown, and weather emergency drills held monthly

  • Emergency contact cards updated every cycle

  • On-site emergency supplies (first aid kits, water, etc.)

C.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

  • Illness policy: Students/staff must stay home if showing symptoms of illness

  • Medication policy: Prescription meds administered only with written authorization

  • On-site health screenings for vision, hearing, or behavioral needs (if possible)

MANDATED REPORTING

  • All staff are mandatory reporters of child abuse or neglect

  • Training provided during onboarding and annually

Special Needs Support

We believe in inclusive learning, encouraging participation alongside peers whenever possible and ensuring a comprehensive approach tailored to each student’s unique journey.

  • All students with IEPs will have access to services required by their plan

  • Initial intake assessment and quarterly IEP review meetings

  • Inclusion policy: Whenever possible, special needs students will participate with peers

  • Collaboration with outside therapists or specialists is encouraged
